 About me

Since October 2004 I have been working on my PhD within the chair of Theoretical Computer Science at the University of Mannheim. I got Master of Applied Computer Science degree from Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg-Germany and Bachelor of Computer Science&Engineering degree from Yildiz Technical University-Istanbul-Turkey.

Currently I have involved in Mobile Business Project which aims at developing and deploying a context-aware and especially location-aware mobile business applications for B2B and B2C transactions. The project is being conducted by seven research groups at the University of Mannheim from the faculties of Computer Science and Business Administration. We, as Chair of Theoretical Computer Science, are responsible for the specification, design and implementation of security/cryptography protocols for the m-business application framework.

 Research Interests

I am mostly interested in IT-Security related topics. IT-Security is a very wide-area and I am focusing on:
I have also special interest in open source and Linux. I am trying to contribute to Linux world by writing articles and translating HowTo/manpages documents into my mother language Turkish.

Java is my choice for software development. Especially its great security and cryptography APIs enable easy and fast development, and secure applications. Bouncy Castle Crypto APIs are also my favour with their huge library.
